Terex makes a splash in China

Welcome to another edition of Blue News, the magazine for Genie customers throughout Australia and New Zealand.

In 2011, Canberra builders Peter and Darrell Leemhuis realised that the nation’s capital had a shortage of quality access hire companies.

In a landmark moment for the Australian equipment hire industry, and for GENIE, in November we delivered the first Genie® SX™-180 self-propelled boom lift to be ordered by an Australian company – to hire equipment firm Top End Access in Darwin.

Force is a leading national provider of access hire equipment, with a 4,000-strong fleet of scissor lifts, boom lifts, knuckle booms, vertical lifts, telescopic handlers and travel towers. It also has 18 branches nationally and 60 field officers covering the length and breadth of the country.

The upcoming Hire and Rental Industry Association Convention, themed ‘Destination Success’, is being held in Adelaide from the 28th-30th April, 2015. The Exhibition will be held at the Adelaide Showground, and the Convention at the InterContinental Hotel.

Here’s one for those who not only want to know what’s up and coming in the access and hire equipment industry, but also have a hankering for Southern-style USA hospitality and good times generally – the American Rental Association (ARA) Rental Show in New Orleans, from February 22-25, 2015.

Genie has opened a new support facility in Darwin, located at 33 McCourt Road, Yarrawonga, adjacent to Palmerston.

COME SEE IT AT THE UPCOMING HRIA CONVENTION IN ADELAIDE, 29-30 APRIL 2015.

BRISBANE (December 16, 2014) – Genie will showcase a new 69 inch wide bi-energy (BE) hybrid rough terrain, electric scissor lift series at the HRIA Convention in Adelaide, April 29-30, at Genie stand 46. The next evolution of the current Genie® 69 inch wide RT and DC scissor lift series, the new Genie GS -69 BE models offer exceptional jobsite versatility. They are the first rough terrain, high performance electric scissor lifts with an onboard integrated generator to charge the batteries and supply power to the platform and chassis. The new Genie® GS™-2669, GS-3369 and GS-4069 BE hybrid scissor lifts will be available in first quarter 2015 to the Australian and New Zealand market.

BRISBANE, Qld (December 11, 2014) - Genie is introducing to Australia two secondary guarding solutions. The Genie® Operator Protective Structure (OPS), a mechanical system, and the Genie® Operator Protective Alarm (OPA), an electrical system. Our customers now have the choice of two systems to configure machines according to different applications and jobsite conditions.
